These magazines need to quit pushig for a rear-mid Vette, thinking it's going to "fix" it. The car is already mid-engine, just front-mid. People just want to change it because they dont understand any better. The Z06 and previous ZR1 already whipes the floor with everything up to 4 times its sticker price. I can't help but wonder what needs to be "fixed". Leave the fucking Vette alone!

Even me who loves the Corvette wants a rear-mid engine one. Just because.
I also want a model with a blown 6 and stripped out interior.

Then go buy a Porsche. Leave the Vette alone to be what it is. The Vette is a fiberglass body, pushrod front mounted V8, with leaf-spring suspension.

Which they still make. Why would it matter if they made the "classic" 'vettte formula next to a mid-engined one? Diversifying the lineup, not screwing up an icon.

Then call it a Fiero, Chevette, anything else. But under no circumstances should it wear the name or the flags.

If GM makes anything mid-rear engined anyway, it'll probably have a Cadillac shield on it.
If it does end up being a Chevy, I guarantee you there's a good reason they called this generation "Stingray" and not just Corvette.

Personally, I would be ecstatic if that "test mule" turned out to be an American version of one of the Australian 'utes. I could not care less about a mid-engine Corvette.

I'm down with the Cadillac idea. Our Kona Brown interior would make this thing look beautiful. And then people wouldn't bulk as hard at the 80-100k price tag.

I think it will wear the flags, but C&D seems pretty convinced it will be called the "Zora"

I'm definitely opposed to it getting the flags too. Maybe not as much as the name, but still opposed.

I agree with both sides
I think the Corvette should stay the way it is
And I think a MR version should be sold as a Caddy and cost more

Revival of the XLR. I can dig it.

Yes!
But this time it won't just be a dressed up Corvette
It will actually be different

I dig it. And they can use a 500hp version of the bi-turbo 3.6!

so many options!
they could do that
or bi-turbo stingray engine
or extend the stingray engine to a V10!
